Alexis and Ramsey were the 2 players looking likely to do something. Taking either off would have been stupid. I'd have gone for Cazorla. He wasn't doing anything of note.

Sickening result, desperate to get 2nd place but looks like we will miss out. Well unless Swansea can beat City but knowing our luck and how City are playing that won't happen.

Not a superstitious man but I swear on twitter and on the forums I got a bad feeling with how relaxed everyone was. People thought it would be a stroll in the park but it most certainly wasn't. Saying that some of our players were shocking on the day. The decision making of some was so poor, Cazorla, Ramsey and Alexis all poor on that front. Despite all that we had our chances to win which we didn't take and Swansea were shit in attack, one plucky attack in the whole 2nd half and they score from it. Jammy fucking cunts!!!

Wenger should have taken Cazorla off and put Theo on. Get Ramsey in the middle and Theo out wide. Then I would have taken Coq off for Jack, in this game Jack + Ramsey would have been fine in the middle because Swansea were so deep. Taking Giroud off was not the right choice at all.

Also I don't really agree that this "wake up call" came at a good time we tend to play better when we're confident, maybe the players minds are already on the cup final.

Yeah, don't like the wake up call bit either. It was a great run we had and it didn't need to end for us to go into a Cup final completely focused.

We really need to be more clinical. We should have done much better with the openings we had yesterday.

We don't have a record of going on a run of bad results in 2015 so far.
We've bounced back and won games immediately following our defeats.
If anything it's following a highly praised, eye-catching win, that we're likely to roll out a flat performance.

We really don't have all the tools to cope with good defences that are compact, organised and highly committed.

I don't think theres much to any of the after a good win, after a loss stuff. There was no less focus yesterday than in any of our recent wins.

We simply didn't put away the chances we carved out, and there were a few too many instances when players made the wrong decision in front of goal. We played well enough, we created what should have been enough chances, and we conceded very, very few chances to the opposition. No need to overthink what happened here IMO.

9 of 10 times we win or at least draw this game. the players just weren't sharp enough in front of goal, and our fullbacks had a lapse in concentration which cost us a goal.

I haven't watched the game other than snippets so I've missed how they managed to get anywhere near our area to score - presumably because without Coquelin no one was actually in position or capable to provide any cover & we were relying upon the FBs to do so?

Not really, we had plenty of players back, just none of them were effectively able to stop what was a pretty standard attack or protect the full back in the same way as Coq was for most of the game. That being said, it should have been stopped regardless.

My question was as to how they got the ball from their area to ours when we had been attacking with 8+ players in their half?
Was it a similar scenario to the FK given away by Gibbs in the reverse fixture?

As soon as Coq came off we lost shape, and the team mentally just went gung ho. Suicidal stuff, he does the same thing when he's protecting a lead and brings on a defensive player for an attacker like Flamini on for Ozil.

Not at all, it was a slow buildup. As I say we had numbers back, no one was out of position.

I hope Coq was pulled for fatigue or injury concerns. Cos tactically, it made no sense.
Wenger, please for the love of George Graham put Ramsey in midfield against that revolting mob this weekend. We have to win. I can't bear the thought of that greying skunk scoring on us again. When is Welbeck back?
