From The Sun.

Manchester United want Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic, 29, a year after he joined the Spanish club from Bayern Munich for £18.5m.

United being linked with players like Cillesen, van den Wiel, and Mandzukic....not very impressive. Me likey.

Think these are all skeptical links.

The only one from a half decent source I've seen is Benzema from the guardian.

Maybe, but I still feel it's indicative of the calibre of player they'll end up with. Plus, van Gaal has always liked signing Dutch players wherever he's been.

Yup he likes dutch players and he signed 2 of them for Utd but he signed many others too that weren't.

I don't think the links are at all indicative though. Most of them are houseboat.

With the sheer amount of money they have I expect at least one big big arrival or maybe two.

Long way to go in the window.

BREAKING NEWS-We hope to complete the signing of PEDRO OBIANG this afternoon. Interviews and more will be on http://whufc.com soon

Other than Benzema, Tevez will be the obvious candidate we should be taking if he is available.

100% we should be in for him if he's available and wants to come.

Think a player like Ayew is as good a player as you can get outside the top 6. Will be interesting to see how he does in the Prem.

Swansea are a very well run club. Shrewd signings last season. Montero, Gomis, Sigurdsson, Fabianski etc.

No to Tevez.

Guy has warrior qualities which I like but too much of a head case.

If Madrid and Simeone are calling we dont really stand a chance anyway.

Means they will shift Mandzukic mind.

Swansea sign Ayew on a free.

On a free? Not bad at all.

Ayew is a fantastic signing for Swansea. They just need a proper striker and some depth in defence to properly challenge for a Europea League place.

Sounds like City is very close to signing De Bruyne. Would be a fantastic signing for them, he is the best performing attacking mid in the top european leagues.

Ayew is a great signing for Swansea. He should bring back a bit of the zip they had season before last.

Not sure what I think about City and DeBrunye. Obviously he's great but he'll want Silvas spot in the team, you can play both but then who with them? And surely they've bigger problems in the side than chance creation. Still they'll be good to watch next season if they have Aguero, DeBrunye, Yaya and Silva all playing.

De Bruyne and Silva will be excellent together. The guy who should worry is Nasri

A lot of De Bruyne's assists coming from the right.

Not one of those is a really excellent pass though IMO.

Wished we were linked to him as he would be a great option on the right (or interchanging w/ Ozil and Sanchez) and also to spite Mourinho!

Lack of pace is why he's not a top player, but he has a great right foot on him and is very aware of runners. He's very good but I don't think he's ever quite going to be elite, personally. Shame he's leaving Wolfsburg, if reports are true. He seemed like a good kid from what I'd read and he seemed to suggest only a little while ago that he was going to stay and try and achieve something there.

Anyway, would be a good signing for City, if it happens.

They can definitely upgrade Nasri and Navas. They're not good enough. This is why they were supposedly in for Theo.

If they are getting Sterling and De Bruyne its an awesome upgrade on these two pussies.

Some news which went under the radar-

BBC Sport understands Swansea City agree a fee of around £3.6m for Saint Etienne defender Franck Tabanou. He will undergo a medical mid June

Sterling is a good talent, but we shouldn't get involved. City are desperate for homegrown first teamers and Liverpool will fleece them for big money.

😆 30m opening bid, gonna be way overpriced.

Liverpool football club truly is the laughing stock of english football.

They value him at £50m? Funny that their wage offer to him doesn't reflect that.

QPR has at least a 20 percent sell-on so that's why they want that much.

Liverpool is such a blackhole. They hang you out to dry as soon as you want out, then they overprice you so its impossible for you to leave. They're such a joke.

I can't see anyone giving Liverpool what they want for Sterling and he'll end up signing a new contract in october when he realises he's stuck there.

They better sell the kid. It will be hard to value him at 40m pounds and not pay him what 40m pound players earn (140 - 180m pounds generally). I hope they've thought about these things. Interesting that he has not come out to say he will stay. He probably, like us, looks at Liverpool and sees a club with no hope in the FFP era.

Since Sterling has gone down this route, I hope that he doesn't sign at all. It would force Pool's hand for next summer. At 20, that would be the smart move IMO.

It is well funny that Liverpool can only attract seriously mediocre players. 🙂

Brendan likes to get in early and hoover up those distinctly average signings.
