Who are going to be the next set of strikers who will be world class in a few years. Let me throw some names (some well known and some not that high profile)-

Romelu Lukaku- Nearing half a century in premier league goals and not even 22 yet. Since the start of 2012-2013 he has scored 39 league goals (In the same period just for reference Giroud has 35). Probably going through his worst league moments in the last 2-3 years but Everton as a whole have disappointed. He scored 17, 16 and this season he's got 13 so he should end up getting an overall higher haul despite the dip in league goals. Powerful, pacy but still needs work on his touch. Personally if Chelsea sold him to us would have gone for him over Welbeck.

Alvaro Morata- A a good talent but like many who were at Madrid has not played that much. Did he join the right club in Juventus for a player in need of starting games? (Remember his games for Madrid are mostly sub appearances off the bench)

Luciano Vietto- I am sure our scouts must know about him given they scouted Gabriel this season. Vietto who just turned 21 two months ago has already racked up 18 goals for Villarreal in his debut season. He's also on course for being double digits in assists.

Paulo Dybala- Palermo paid a relatively high fee given their modest budget to bring him in and with 12 league goals he's made his breakthrough this season. After supposedly agreeing a contract extension his agent started asking for more money and with his deal expiring in 2016 the president has made it clear that he will be sold in the summer.

Harry Kane- Still only 21 he's scored 24 goals in 38 games this season. At first glance he doesn't seem to have any particularly outstanding skill but he does have a good all round game. Wether he is a one season wonder or a real talent we will find out in the coming years.

Saido Berahino- 21 years old and seems to have great finishing and pace. Linked with Liverpool and Tottenham. Questions do surround his attitude though.

Danny Ings- 9 league goals for a Burnley team. The third premier league class striker Burnley have had in the last 2-3 years (They sold Jay Rodriguez and Charlie Austin in the last 2-3 years). A free transfer in the summer to a higher profile club awaits.

Mauro Icardi- Third Argentinian on this list. Once at Barcelona Mauro Icardi left for Sampdoria to get regular first team action and has not looked back since then. He scored 10 league goals for Sampdoria which earned him a move to Inter. After an injury hit first season he's scored 19 in 31 at nearly a rate of 2 per 3 games. The only thing seemingly in the way for him like Berahino is apparent attitude problems. Had a major falling out with another former Barcelona player Maxi Lopez who played with him at Sampdoria. Icardi had an affair with his wife and now she's married to him.

Alexander Lacazette- Oldest player on this list as he turns 24 this summer. Started scoring regularly for Lyon a year ago and this season he's averaged nearly a league goal per game. Lyon's academy have also produced Karim Benzema and Loic Remy.

Paco Alcacer of Valencia has been showing some pretty promising things in the last season or two, only 21 currently. Has a handful of caps for Spain as well.

Lukauku will come good. He's a beast/unit. Gets a lot of stick but I think given time he will be unstoppable.

Out of that list, probably Vietto.

MAYBE Lacazette, but haven't seen him play for a few months now.

Morata seems the most likely one on that list to me (I haven't seen Vietto). The bloke looks like he's going to be brilliant. I think we fucked up big time by not signing him.

Out of our lot Sanogo has the most appealing traits in my opinion, but it's didficult to tell whether he'll ever make sense of them.

If we did sign Morata Klaus, Real would've demanded that same buy back clause too. He's bound to return to Real as Benzema's replacement in a few years.

Good point about the buyback clause, but we could probably have worked around it by throwing more cash on them. We weren't even willing to spend as much as we did on Welbeck if you're going to believe the rumours, and that is unbelievable to me.

not a striker, but depay looks like he's going to make the step up to stardom.

berahino is not that different from welbeck. decent player but not a star.

none of our young strikers will become a star, i can tell you that much.

Kami, as an aside, we have to really be questioning Wenger/Brady around the youth policy. We knew in 2003 that we would be moving towards a policy of austerity that demanded a more productive youth academy in the vein of Barcelona or Ajax. 8-12 year olds taken on in 2003 would be 19 to 24 right now. Yet when I look at the team, I don't see enough players to make me believe we invested well. And I don't buy the recruiting boundary arguments. London has more people than most countries. I don't see anyone special in our group. That, for me, is a great disappointment. The youth policy should have yielded 6 or 7 good to great players that could be complemented by 4-5 Cavani level stars to complete the team.

Morata erred in Juventus. He should've asked for a loan to a team like Sevilla or Valencia. Or taken a chance on a small team like Spurs. He's just not getting the requisite traction at Juve.

I would add the names of the Sassuolo duo, Zaza and Berardi to the list.
Both have been very impressive for the last couple of seasons.
I wont be surprised to see either/both of them at Juventus next season who call the shots as far as their future is concerned.

Other Serie A based striker who has impressed me is Khouma Babacar of Fiorentina. He was always hyped from a young age but he seems to coming into his own this season.

Out of the OP definitely Vietto, that kid (and he really looks like a 12 year old) reminds me of Agรผero, just doesn't miss. Lacazette is already up there I'd say but then you'd have to list Griezmann as well I reckon, or Neymar who's actually significantly younger than both.

None of that list look like they're on the path to becoming World Class.

Memphis Depay is a future star wide forward, and we should sign him in the summer.

That kid at Barcelona looks like a world class prospect. Not sure he'll be a striker, perhaps a wide player or a SS/10.

i really like the looks of vietto, dybala, and alcacer

Adama Traore is certainly someone I wouldn't mind us poaching off Barcelona. Get Memphis Depay too while we are at it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Not seen much of him but watched Vietto today, looks a good prospect. Be interesting to see how he develops, hope our scouts are keeping a close eye on him.

With the current problems with the board room might be possible, La Masia is a bit of a mess right now. Seung-Woo Lee another really great prospect there
