He's getting loads of assists with Giroud as striker. Plenty of seasons with Ronaldo and Benzema in the team where he got less. He may want a new striker to help win things but I doubt he wants one because he thinks it'll bump up his assist stats.

We're not offering crazy money for the same reason we don't pay crazy transfer fees though. So that's another thing he won't get here, aside from big trophies. The fact that all talk about extensions for Özil and Alexis died down in february when our season predictably came apart is a pretty good clue about where we're at. They want reassurances about the future of the club. Signing Granit Xhaka is not going to convince anyone that we're about to tear it up, and going by Wenger's track record we're pretty much done now unless something literally falls into our collective lap.
Guess ozil is watching what the club does. If we fail to make a 'proper' assault for silverware, he might be gone next summer.
Ozil, Sanchez and Koscielny will not sign new contracts and will move on for relatively peanut sums as it will be clear they don't want to stay here.
It will be funny when they leave and Wenger and Ivan try to claim we don't have to sell our best players.

Yep, Ozil's never stayed at a club longer than 3 years and his next contract is likely to be his last big one. If we don't show ambition, I doubt he'd extend and I wouldn't blame him. He should have won multiple league titles by now.
