Doesn't effect him at all really.
He's still very much in the limelight and I'm guessing he'd prove a far more popular Tory leader than Osborne. He's also campaigning for Brexit, I'm assuming to win over euro sceptics in his party rather than having any real belief that it's what's best for the country. I'd make him favourite to take over, and they're bound to find a bunch of poor/disabled/disadvantaged folk being beaten and tortured in Osborne's basement before the leadership battle kicks off.
