Because it's one of the biggest clubs in football. Massive fanbase, huge potential, piles of money. Lots of upside, not much to lose unless he's got the Bayern job in his sights.Â
What huge potential? What piles of money? He'll back to his Dortmund situation where every time he has a good player he'll be sold from under him. Big fanbase but smaller stadium than Dortmund. He can do better.
According to the Deloitte Money League, they had the 9th biggest revenues in Europe for 2013/14, and with the new PL TV-deal, that position is surely going up.
More fans than Man City, and a great history. The name/brand is stronger than its current position, which is helpful if you want to attract better players, new sponsors, new fans etc.Â
The stadium is an issue, but those revenues will become a smaller and smaller part of the total income of football clubs. There are also talks that they will build a new one or expand/improve Anfield. This could make an ambitious manager attracted to the project. Klopp could fancy moulding Liverpool in the same way Wenger has moulded Arsenal.Â
