Torres still has the ability but his head is god knows where at this stage. If he managed a run of goals and got his confidence back he could be as good as ever.

Kinda what I think as well. This is what I said in another thread about it.

Reckon a lot of Torres' problems are mental. He just doesn't seem to want it anymore. There were many time this season where he looked as if he was hiding from the ball and just didn't want to receive it in any kind of semi dangerous position for fear of fucking the chance up. Watch him in the England game or any of his next few games and you'll realise he makes almost no effort to make a run for his team mates and is often found on the other side of the play or outside the box. It'd be interesting to see how many touches of the ball on average he's made since becoming a Chelsea player in comparison to his early Liverpool days.

sounds about right, and they'd have a decent backup striker. i'm glad dalglish is their manager, cos they easily couldve bought some really, really good players with the money they wasted.

... but then Torres was signed for the guts of £20m himself, to replace someone before him, who was in place signed to replace someone before that... so Carroll actually cost Liverpool hundreds of millions. An even worse buy!
