the worst referee in the league is doing this game, and the last time we played villa at home, he was also the referee. going to be a big uphill battle, hopefully we can overcome the odds.

As a club, Villa are looking very unstable. There's been a few seasons recently like this one where they hover around the relegation spots but survive. For a club of that standing they should be nearer Everton and Tottenham. There was talk at the start of the season of Lerner selling up after losing a lot of money. They're doing the right thing by keeping Lambert though - think he's a good manager and he talks a good game, but probably needs more support in the transfer market.

If OX is still out injured, I would start Ozil over Theo.

Arsene's said we play with one forward and one midfielder on the wings, so don't expect Alexis and Walcott in the same starting XI.

When he says stuff like that, it's with the defensive workrate in mind. I suspect he'd count Sanchez as both a midfielder and a striker. Same with Welbeck. Walcott and Sanchez is possible, but Ozil and Walcott on the flanks isn't. What would save them is playing Sanchez ahead of Giroud.

I don't think there's much basis for saying that, he didn't put it in those terms. I think it's about having a balanced attack while in possession.

Fair enough, I didn't think about that. Walcott and Sanchez probably give the ball away the most.

I bet Agbonlahor will be up for this one, that guy always seems to perform against us. One of the few players I've seen that regularly gives Kos a rough time.

On paper this looks a routine game but I think it will be a tough game. Will be interesting to see what Wenger does with Ozil/Theo, not sure if either will start tbh.
