That was the issue really, wasn't it? The promise was huge, but he didn't really deliver on it, although even I would concede someone who has 100 goals for us, even if it took 10 years+, has made a decent go of it.
@James will remember a conversation we had at half time of the NLD in Feb 2012 when I expressed the view that I hated Theo more than any other Arsenal player I'd ever seen, "even Eboue" (he had been pretty awful, tbf). He laughed that off and we watched Theo score twice as we absolutely ran away with the second half. That was Theo in a nutshell to me, frustration and excellence in equal measure.
