Still go running in the 125th anniversary kit with his name on the back. It's such a shame how his career turned out, he could have been one of the world's best midfielders and an absolute club legend. Hope he finds all the success possible at Bournemouth.

Loved this preformance, cesc was on the bench because he was injured. We were shit for 60 mins. Watch how static he is. He cant run. He puts us ahead with an insane free kick and then when he sees the opening he spints knowing hes injured and it'll fook him. He scores and he can hardly walk after and comes off injured again. The guys a hero. Imagine been that good you come on injured and still grab the game by the scruff of the neck and win it for your team.

See people say football is all about trophies, but I knew that was the Aston Villa game you were talking about, Speedy, before I even clicked it. It is one of the better memories I have of watching Arsenal. Fabregas that day, and at that time, was a god. An utterly amazing footballer. One of our greatest that's for sure.

It really is a very good example of what he was to the other players and the fans at that time. And to carry all that when he was so young. Big time character and big time player.

One of my favourite ever Cesc performance is actually at Highbury against Juve in the quarters when he came up against Vieira. He was unbelievably mature for his age. I always like his deeper performances more, especially in 2008 as a B2B midfielder. Unplayable

He was great that day. The pires tackle on Vieira was just insane.

Cesc against that great Milan side though. They just got themselves into trouble when they pressed him. He'd just pull them out of position and still play the ball forwards. They just had to stand back and admire him destroying their midfield. Our midfield that day was Diaby, Fabregas, Flamini, Eboue, Hleb. Bar cesc they are some bang average players. And we were up against Gattuso, Ambrosini, Pirlo, Kaka, Pato

I just hope we don’t do to Saka what we did to Cesc. But something tells me Arteta is a demanding guy who will try to get the best possible players he can to support our young superstar

Hleb and Fabregas was unplayable that day. They literally ran rings around Milan's midfield. Kaka was in Flamini's pockets all day long.

I love that 08 team. It had everything, skill and pace up front, perfectly balanced midfield 4 and a good defence. Rosicky and RVP injuries meant we didn't see our best team enough that year as we had no depth.

Cesc made them look a lot better than they were. flamini without cesc is nothing same with eboue in midfield and diaby was raw as hell. Hleb had a good preformance but he was nothing without cesc after he left he was the only one you could mildly make a case for. But he left for just over 10M and flopped in the prem after and nobody wanted him. He had little cutting edge which cesc had in abundance to cover him.

Controversial opinion but I've always thought Cesc's goal against Milan was overrated. Any other 'keeper who wasn't as leaden footed as Kalac would have saved that so always felt it was a bit of a goalkeeping error more than a great strike.

Didn't take long for the Fenerbahce fans to hate him. Brutal comments to this tweet. Looks like he has really been bad in his few apps for them. Most fans already asking him to be dropped or get lost.

I wasn't chatting about the goal but his performance against peak pirlo, peak kaka and gatusso who's a bit of a legend himself. Surrounded by bang average players.
But to be fair to cesc he scored quite a few from distance. His nickname in Spain was the cannon before we signed him. But, sure if he only did it once you could call it a fluke.

People on Twitter probably aren't a great barometer given the abuse most of our players have been receiving at some point this season. That being said, seriously happy he's not our problem any more.
