Also in terms of temperament Auba and Sanchez are night and day. Sanchez didn't bring about a feel good factor even though he played with better players.
Definitely. One of the most surprising things about Aubameyang for me is how impeccable his attitude has been. I knew he was top class when we signed him, but with his reputation you expected him to throw a tantrum at some point when he realised that we weren't going to get back into Champions League any time soon, and to be honest I don't think too many fans would have blamed him for it.
Instead he's been so chill about it. Benched by Emery? No problem. Having to play on the wing? Who cares, I'll just score the same tally from fewer chances, worse angles and longer distances. The club hits its lowest point in 30 odd years? Shit happens, let's get on with it.
It's easy to perform in a well-functioning team where everyone is having the time of their lives, but you can see who the real leaders are when the going gets tough. They are the ones who lead by example by going out there every week and just doing their thing.
