Just do the stadium tour with him, it's easier that way. He is a very knowledgeable and funny man.
The tour was a gift. Next time I'm back in London I'm planning a legends tour. I did like the freedom to walk around at my own pace though.Â
I recently did the Aliianz Arena tour when I was in Munich for Oktoberfest and it was completely underwhelming. Stadium was dirty, and whilst some bits were interesting, it was all roped off. We were all squeezed into the changing rooms but you couldn't sit on the seats for example. Didn't bother me too much, but having a seat and getting your photos at the benches would be a big deal to some people. Similarly with the dugouts you could go up the stairs but not out onto the pitchside, so you had a few moments to get a photo before you were pushed aside for someone else's turn. Wouldn't recommend it at all based on my experience.Â
Yeah. I have done both at the Emirates and I did like the free and easy tour more. I spent 3 hours inside 😆 It's your own pace, you can see as much as you like and take as many photos as you want. It's brilliant. The legends tour offers something different though. I did one with Charlie George and he offered fantastic insights, answered every question as best as possible and even told personal stories about Wenger etc. The only difference is that the tour end pretty quickly and you don't get that much chance to take photos in the stadium.
Agree about Allianz. It felt very rushed and extremely commercialized. So far I have pretty much done a stadium tour at every europe's major stadium and ours is by far the best. Our museum is not up to scratch compared to the rest and felt dated, but every other thing is top notch. The only other tour that was remotely interesting compared to ours is probably Wembley.
