gone doggin? he hasn't looked quite the same player since the back injury. classy player though

if he could stay fit, he'd be brilliant here.

He plays in the Ramsey/Wilshere/Cazorla position? Literally the position we need players the least.

id also argue that hes better defensively than all of those guys. certainly better defensively than wilshere and cazorla.

we all know wenger doesn't like playing with a matic type defensive midfielder. gundo has a very well rounded skill set and can defend, hes just not a big man mountain physically.

Please don't let the issue of Gundogan always having Kehl or Bender in the same midfield get in the way of thinking of him as a defensive midfielder.

Well, to me it sounds as if you would be thinking along those lines if he is the midfielder you want us to sign.

For my money, I'd take Ramsey over Gundogan any day of the week, and I don't think Gundogan is that much better than Wilshere that I'd want to sign him to be ahead of Wilshere in the pecking order.

You wouldn't necessarily be thinking along those lines if Gundogan is the midfielder that you want us to sign.

Which lines would you think along then?

I've gone off the idea of signing him since his injury.
Can't be doing with another player who is at risk of breaking down throughout the season.
Prior to his being injured I'd have signed him in a heartbeat, he was brilliant.

Nah, not what we need at all. Huge risk. Why not just get what we're sorely lacking instead of trying to force such a one-sided system to magically start working?

Exactly. IF he came here after his problems he'd probably end up an amputee.

Yep. I'd rather watch him play himself back into shape at Dortmund and then spend £15 million more on him in the summer if he really proves to be worth it.

He was the best player against us when we won and was rated above 8 - this is after his return from injury.
He's slightly shorter than Arteta & Schneiderlin but is the heavier of the 3.

IIRC these attribute ratings are based upon current season.

I have no issues signing him as Arteta's replacement - particularly if we sign a CB with pace to replace BFG to enable us to play a high D line.

If sign him and Schneiderlin.

Gundogan is brilliant and he'd allow us to dominate teams again with his style and excellence. Far far better under pressure than anyone we have. The guy is world class.

Looks to be proving his fitness too which admittedly is a concern.

If we are ever going to seriously compete with Chelsea, City and Europe's elite, we need more players like him

We're signing a crock. How novel.
