I suspect part of the reason why we've signed him this early is to provide cover but also so that he gets a chance to settle into the league. Wenger's said that he's got to adapt to European football a bit more, so it works well for everyone.

Pointless player we have so many of his type who have much more potential, he should have been sold after the World cup when his stock was high after he scored a goal.
Agree with biggus. Could have gotten £10m for him. We screwed last summer's window up so badly, we could have gone up a level but we've regressed instead.
