Think we should mainly focus on strengthing our defence right now, I'd put in a bid for Stones. Everton are struggling this season, so they might be willing to sell and use the money to strengthen other areas. But we should not fuck around waiting till late in the window (penny pinching), put in a bid now, far higher chance of succeding because there is still a of time left to bring replacements in.
I like Pogba but I think there will be clubs with a lot more money than us willing to pay a lot more to secure his services.
I do like your idea about John Stones though, again though no chance this window so we either sign some player on loan or someone on a short term deal who we can get rid of quickly. If Debuchy hadn't got injured I wouldn't have bothered too much about signing a CB.

Or we could just use him the same way Juve are using him at the moment; left side of a diamond, with Ramsey on the other side and Jack sittig at the base of it (the role he plays for England). This formation allows us to play Ozil at 10.
I don't have much faith in Jack playing that role against the top sides. Or that kind of system against top sides in this league or the CL.

Martinez would be the most ideal signing, the other two I'm not so sure about. Not in terms of their quality because both are brilliant players but in terms of whether they are the right player for us. Both strike me as replacements for Ramsey rather than someone to compliment them, Koke plays more higher up the pitch and Atletico use Gabi & Thiago in the middle. Gundogan with again while an excellent player his best performances have come with a more defensive player like Bender. So am not sure whether they can play the role we need. Though I am big fan of Gundogan, I'd sign him without even thinking about whether he is the right player for us or not!
