Ah I see. I thought Wenger meant in the summer, must have misread it.

jan tran usually ends up being a wet fart. if were just going to get warm bodies in id prefer loan deals. dont want any dreck on permanent deals

I have no idea what 'if the right opportunity comes up' is supposed to mean in Wenger speak. Is that where Juventus calls us and asks whether we would like to buy Vidal for £20m? It is infuriating that we once again seem to go into a transfer window without having deals already in place, just awaiting signatures to formalize the deals.

Stephane Mbia - Sevilla (will go to ACN soon though)
Sami Khedira - Real Madrid (yes, please)
Andrea Ranocchia - Inter (not a bad shout at all)
Nigel de Jong - AC Milan (replace Flamini with another Flamini)
Chris Samba - Dinamo Moscow (😃)
Fabian Schär - Basel (wouldn't mind this dude)
Rio Mavuba - Lille (something Wenger might consider)
Ron Vlaar - Aston Villa (known as 'Concrete-Ron' in Holland. We could do worse)
John Terry - Chelsea (having a strong season, but is a massive cunt)
Winston Reid - West Ham (I wouldn't mind him at all)
Maya Yoshida - Southampton (heh)

Bet we'll sign at least one from that list. On a positive note though, Flamini is also out of contract in the summer.

The lack of quality DM is ruining our attack as well as defence. If you offered me a DM or CB this window I'd take the DM without a second thought. While we are one CB short, we did get a bit unlucky. Debuchy getting a bit of a freak injury at the same time as Kos and we only had one player providing cover for CB & RB (Chambers). I suppose you could say rather than being unlucky it was poor planning by the club. However in DM we simply do not have the quality, Arteta's legs are gone and the rest of our options are average at best.

More than anything, Arteta has been injured most of the season. Had we not had to rely on Flamini so much I reckon we would have done quite a bit better.

I don't think a midfielder will make a difference at this point. Maybe for a while, but it will still be one player against four when we lose possession and the opponents counter. We don't have good enough players, but our problem is also structural. A more talented individual still can't cover the need to be in three places at once.
