We have a terrible selection of candidates for POTY, but he's gotta be top two.

Thats probably the 3 alright but Monreals been pretty poor at times with his defending and passing this season. Ozil hasn't had a stellar season by his own standards at all and while Ramseys been good when available he's still missed quite a bit with injury. Goes to show how bad a season we are having when thats our POTY short list.

Keeping Ramsey must be one of the biggest priorities this summer surely? I wonder how much influence the new manager will have on that front.

Seeing how Atletico are sniffing around Leno we really should break the bank and try to get Oblak. He's the best keeper in the world, not as flashy as De Gea because he doesn't flop around spectacularly but he's actually better at everything goalkeeping related

He'd cost a fortune no? That being said, he's 25 so he'd be well worth any fee in the region of £40m. Selling Ospina should partially fund that.

He's really awful on penalties though, although that is not a big problem.

I want someone that is amazing at kicking so I would prefer Alisson

Getting Oblak is a pipe dream honestly. We won't even be in contention.

TBH IMO he's as much a liability in a 2 CM system with our current resources.
Yes he's good going forward with his movement into the area, but that's not a priority as a CM,
and he also spends too much time ahead of the ball in transition - but that's as much to do with him being allowed to do so by AW's ideologies.
For mind he's more AM than CM by nature and is better suited to an inverted 3 man midfield.

If we then consider his injury issues each season I'd NOT be building a team around him if it didn't also best suit the likes of Ozil, Lacazette, PEA and Mkhi. I'd sell Rambo in the summer if he doesn't accept our offer even if Wilshere was also to depart, and would quite happily replace them with Mhki in the Cazorla role if needs be.
Bottom line I want a starting XI that is fit for purpose as opposed to being a series of compromises.
