People see what they want to see with Ramsey.
He's been average for a long while. Too obsessed with scoring, makes his runs far too early, and we lose our way in midfield. Just simplify your game man, we all saw what you could do in 2013.
He's been ok. His technique remains a mystery to me. Sometimes it's great, other times he can't control a basic pass.

Like I said in the other thread, Rosicky is clearly a better player.
Ramsey is odd he can be really dominant but he has obvious shortcomings to his game.
Right now I prefer Rosicky in there to help the flow of out game
Rosicky makes things happen. He can take the ball from standstill and blast past 1-2 players with ease, creating space for himself and others. Hardly anyone else in the league can do what he does.
Rosicky is world class against Tottenham and lower league sides. Rest of the time he does fuckall each season.
Ramsey works best with a playmaker in front of him. I don't think we're getting the most out of him right now, just like we're not getting the most out of Özil on the flank. They worked great together last season. It still looks like such a mistake to switch formation to me. Only one who benefits from it is Cazorla.
We got crushed a number of times last year and our midfield was horrible at times. Something had to be done.

Recruiting a solid DM would have been the best option. Still is.
Can Ozil and Ramsey play in the same midfield? Of course but they need a serious defensive mid along side them.
Should have gotten a better team instead of switching formation to something that doesn't suit the players or the style.

Don't think you'll find that DM. Only way this could work is if Ramsey learns how to play like a proper CM and/or Ozil finds a backbone and works harder off the ball.
With Ramsey and Ozil, as the players they are today, our midfield would get crushed by any quality side.
QS, you cannot blame the DM for Ramsey and Cazorla today. These boys failed to do the basics on offense which is direct the pace of play. The ball hardly seemed to go through them, straight to the wings where it would invariably get eaten up in a double team. It was like watching high-schoolers play. I am still not entirely happy with our midfield. Ozil should eventually come into the centre, but the other two spots can definitely be upgraded even then. We need to get to the level of consistency that Cheslea can achieve with Fabregas-Oscar-Matic when they're on.
even javi martinez couldn't make today's midfield good.
No point stopping an attack or winning the ball if the guys you pass it to give it right back to the opposition.

Well, you said they need a more serious DM alongside them. I assumed that laid some blame at his feet. Apologies for misunderstanding I want a midget clear-out this summer. I'm tired of talking about the same smurfs not putting together nonsensical performances. They must follow our very own Gargamel out the door
Think he was a little unlucky today - a lot of the balls he lost/bundled were fucking zipped in to him. No one really helped him out by playing decent balls in.
Ramsey's technique isn't of the class of Özil or Santi, so when he misplaces a pass or gets dispossessed unnecessarily, his confidence takes a hit, and that's when his level starts dropping, and when he should go back to doing to the basics right.
