We did between 01 and 05.
I have watched Bayern 40 minutes and yet I can't describe their formation. Looks like a 3-2-5
This is a Bayern team without Schweinsteiger, Martinez, Thiago and Ribery. Scary.

Considering our current team, I would take Martinez ahead of any other player. Then Lewandowski, Benatia, Alaba, Mueller all before Gotze.

Forgot about Alaba. I'd take Martinez first too. I guess my order would be:
Martinez
Benatia
Müller
Alaba
Lewandowski
Götze
Neymar is starting to make a real impact for Barcelona this season. 9 goals in 9 games so far.
Maybe this is why Roma is losing

Don't even remember seeing Pjanic and De Rossi in the first half. This game is very similar to Brazil Germany 1-7
Ashley Cole yanked!
Cole subbed off for his first half performance, Holebas on.

Inter Milan v. Arsenal 03/04

I miss the level we played then, but I'm not sure we played that well. This is perfect football.

We played good against Rome as well (Henry HT), but like this?
The inter thing came after losing 3:0 at home, mind.
Another fantastic save by Neuer

We played every bit as well. We took the piss regularly.

Inter was one of the best teams on the planet at the time. This Roma side is a European third tier club.
How did Neuer keep that out again?
Gervinho's work rate and ability to constantly be involved in creating attacks is amazing. Too bad his final execution is just like Eboue's.

Some youth team coach failed him badly. Imagine what he could have been with proper ground work.
Gervinho is still Roma's best player today. It's more down to Neuer's brilliance than Gervinho's finishing today.
Gervinho got the shot away. Wouldn't have done that here.

Guardiola's Barcelona and Bayern's teamwork is on another level. We were every bit as good at creating incredible attacks, though. The pressure the other two can place on the opponent is just so relentless. We were more like Real Madrid of today against the top teams.
Super finish.
Ridiculous.
Matched the 7-1 result now.
Had to be two set pieces.
Goals galore today, Shakthar winning 7-0, Chelsea 6-0, Schalke 4-3.
Very suprised Bilbao is doing so poorly in UCL.
Why don't our wide players get in behind the way Robben/Ribery/Muller/Shaqiri do?
Tactics, Training, Game Plan.
Never get why we don't do that more often this season especially with Alexis and Ox. Tell them not to always come deep for possession and simply wait for through balls will do. Liverpool did that perfectly last year.
3 more years, maybe less. If we play it right we could be doing all this good stuff too.
Are you being sarcastic again Eboue fan?
ebouefan wrote:3 more years, maybe less. If we play it right we could be doing all this good stuff too.
If we'd gotten rid of the chump 3 years ago we'd be enjoying all the good stuff now! :opti:

I've decided to give up complaining.
I wont be surprised to see Walcott covering the LB in the cursed "Arshavin" position.
General Mirth wrote:Why don't our wide players get in behind the way Robben/Ribery/Muller/Shaqiri do?
...because none of our players are good enough to? Wenger's dream would be for us to dominate like Barcelona or Bayern Munich, but the simple fact is none of our players are good enough to start for either team. We couldn't contribute a starter for any of the top 3/4 European teams. That is exactly why we cannot dominate the opposition like them.
Kos would start for all of those teams, Özil was a starter for Real Madrid for 3 years, and Alexis was Barcelona's best player last season. I'd wager that Walcott would play quite a bit for most teams as well, and so would Ramsey.
I don't think Ramsey would.
Ronaldo just scored a lovely goal
Great goal by Ronaldo. Nice ball by James to set him up.
2-0 Benzema
Balotelli swapped shirts with Pepe at HT and he's subbed off for the start of the second half. Rodgers was downplaying the Balotelli signing a couple of weeks ago and it looks like he's had enough already. Lallana in his place, I think Sterling is playing at no.9.
