I work for one of the teams of a cricket league here. A number of Arsenal fans around, but far too many United fans. Last year was fun, I hope this season is too. For years I have had to listen to their sympathetic nonsense, which is far worse than the genuine banter that came earlier when we challenged them.

Agreed with your sentiments Rohit.

Funny thing about the United fans, they mostly disappeared as the season went on. Totally little trace of them in my social media feeds. They made a brief appearance when they were winning in pre-season, thats about it

I have a gut feeling we'll make it to at least the semis this year off the back of the blood, sweat and tears of Carl jenkinson, when he gets recalled in January. Jenkinson or Ramsey. Toss up at this point, the visions are hazy.

We are going to be in pot 4 next year when the seeding systems are changed.

Uefa is planning to change it to.

POT 1: Defending Champs + 7 league champs from top 7 ranked countries
POT 2: The next 8 ranked league champions
POT 3: 2nd and 3rd placed teams
POT 4: Qualifers

Hadn't heard of that. If the defending champions won their league I assume it will be the top 8 league winners in pot 1? How many countries have teams entered into the Champions League?

Well, that's assuming another 4th place finish. We may very well finish 2nd or 3rd (not going to predict a league winning campaign)

Not sure how pot 2 will work out? Unless they drastically change the qualification routes as well because I doubt there are 16 countries who have their champions to straight into the CL. He'll even the likes of Celtic have to qualify. If the do plan on allowing the champions of 16 different countries go through then that means things will have to change with regards to qualifying. At least 15 of the 32 places go to teams from the top 6 leagues. Ahh it's all too complicated to work out even looking at their current quota system.

They have decided to change it after seeing us constantly in pot 1 and City in other pots.

Apparently if the system is in place this will be the POTs this year. POT 2 are the remaining champions + the 3 2nd placed teams (if there are not enough champions).

POT1: Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Benfica, Juventus, CSKA Moscow, Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid
POT2: Ukraine (Shakhtar Donetsk), Holland (Ajax), Belgium (Anderlecht), Switzerland (Basle) and Greece (Olympiacos), plus the second-placed teams from Spain (Barcelona), England (Liverpool) and Germany (Borussia Dortmund).
POT3: Malmo, BATE Borisov, Apoel Nicosia, Sporting Lisbon, Roma, Zenit St Petersburg, Monaco and Chelsea
POT4: Arsenal, Bayer, Athletic, Ludogerets, Maribor, Galatasaray, Porto, Schalke.

No surprise who is hit the most by this system.

Wenger needs to stop arsing about then and make sure we finish ahead of Liverpool. Imagine a group with Bayern and Barca. We'd be dead and buried by Halloween.

But in that case, and forgive my poor geography, wouldn't Malmo (Sweden), BATE Borisov (Belarus), Apoel Nicosia (Cyprus), Ludogorets (Bulgaria) and Maribor (Slovenia) all be classified as champions as well? There is no way any team from those countries would qualify for a place in the CL (even the qualifying rounds) unless they were champions. Or is it a case of if the team went through the qualifiers they'd be seeded in pot 4 regardless of whether they were champions of their domestic league or not. If so something needs to change because I'm almost 100% sure there are not 16 leagues in Europe that have their champions go straight through to the CL proper.
