Yeah I'm not confident right now.....personally, I feel that we were banking on Giroud with Sanchez / Sanogo as back ups. Think we probably tested the market for other strikers but didn't feel the need required to land someone respectable. Hard to imagine we have it in us to sign someone now that can be a legit striker.

Week left and we need a CB, DM and ST....all hard to find legit quality players/positions.

There are zero rumours floating around. One player maximum, probably a CB. Not a very good one either.

Alex Song on 11 pm deadline day. We'll be pining for him.

I expect another signing. We can't go the whole campaign with just 2 seasoned centre backs. Surely ...

If it's Song or no one, I'll take Song.

If we sign a Cavani, I happily take Song Billong.

I actually think Song could be ok. Would provide cover for CM and CB and would have no issues adjusting to the PL.

Linked with a season long loan deal for Nicola zigic. Surely it must be a joke ?

We'll sign nobody.

Yeah that's my gut feel.

Back against the wall, I'm not going to go with obvious Wenger is in town

We look but in the end there was no value

Wenger will shock the world again and nab Cavani

I still have a good feeling about it, 2 signings will come in after we despatch Besiktas. One major one.

EDIT: Forget it, just saw Ornstein's tweet that we will sign only a backup DM and no ST.

What's Kallstrom up to this year?

Wenger's still labouring under the illusion that Giroud can't be bettered in terms of who he can buy over the next week sooo...... no more madnesses just a defensive minded midfielder who can double as a central defender or vice versa.

#AFC still want CB/DMF (maybe someone who can do both) but likely to be squad player not big name as (esp CB) will be back-up

#AFC unlikely to sign striker despite Giroud injury. Not definitive but current plan is existing options rather than buy/loan

He's got no more of a clue than any of us.

I think it's obvious that Ornstein has certain sources within the club though. He's probably just being hounded by his bosses to tweet more regularly since people view him as a semi-reliable guy. Gotta keep that twitter active.

Hmm. He's left too many get-outs in those tweets for my liking.

Those tweets are pure nonsense, but he has to tweet something to keep up the interest I suppose. It's when he reports on specific targets that I start to get interested.

David Ornstein has his degree in medieval languages. True story.
