Carvalho and Manolas.
Manolas deal reportedly broke down due to personal terms.
We desperately need one more signing to guarantee some distance between us and fifth place.
We could do with two new signings to actually challenge.
Therefore, just one new signing.
Hate this little lull in activity whilst we wait to see our champs league fate

Just Carvalho then I suppose. Maybe a Remy on deadline day.
Wenger's still labouring under the illusion that Giroud can't be bettered in terms of who he can buy over the next week sooo...... no more madnesses just a defensive minded midfielder who can double as a central defender or vice versa.
Zero signings.
Wenger has done his business and will rely on Yaya and Giroud up front; Arteta and Flamini screening the CBs; and Chambers coming in when Kos or Merte is injured.
This squad is good enough for 4th so why would he push out the boat any further?
Brain says one halfassed centreback before the window closes. Heart says one more madness.
Loan bids for Kalou and Gourcuff.
The Özil madness came from right out of the blue last season so maybe your heart's right Klaus. Today I just don't see the signs, I have the no more madnesses Monday blues.
It's completely useless making predictions because you won't know until someone becomes available, which is probably based on the domino transfer effect. So any big transfers are reliant on Real, Bayern and PSG, Monaco.
Wenger did say that further signings were subject to Champions League qualification. I'm thinking that it's not so much because of any financial predicament if we miss out, but because the player we're interested in wouldn't want to waste a year on us if we did.
Maybe it's just wishful thinking.
Nah Ozil didn't come out nowhere. It was clear from what Wenger was saying at the time that we were desperate to burn some cash. Now you just hear him backing his squad and saying he has the quality he wants.
So one more average centerback this summer, i'd say.

Same. Although my heart says multiple madnesses.
Seems like there is quite a lot of business left in this window for the megaclubs, though.

That's what I think too. Will be hard to stomach.

Reckon it's more to do with the size of squad we need depending whether we're competing in two competitions or three.
I want to believe it's because Arturo Vidal and Marco Reus ain't spending a year out of the Champions League for nobody!

Bank holiday to cheer ya up though!
It's not a bank holiday here 🙂

It came out of nowhere. If you go back and read over the transfer threads from this time last year you'll see that pretty much everyone had given up on anything major happening. I don't remember anyone anticipating or expecting a signing of the magnitude and stature of Özil. It was only in his interview post Spurs game that Wenger let us glimpse the signs of impending madness on his face.

Just the one, not a madness.
