Ok team locked and loaded. Lets do this :opti:
Fantasy Premier League 2014-15
Who is the reigning chimp?
Derek L aka Gunner_91.
Poor first day, only goal was on my bench.
Shit day for me, 2 first teamers didn't even play!
Mourinho's a fucking prick for lying about Costa.

Win.
I'd advise against this, as I always start off badly. Last season was the only season in which I've managed to hold my wildcard past the first couple of weeks.
Anyway, following on the theme.. poor start, only 1 of my 5 players managed to get over 2 points and it wasn't my captain.
A auspicious start. Had courtios as my no.1 goalkeeper until a last minute change of heart.
First weekend doesn't count, right guys?
Dire weekend for me too. 22 points.
i forgot to join for week 1. so i guess i have my work cut out for me
Least you guys have like 22 points. I just about reached double figures on my first to playing this. Maybe there was a reason I never played this before and this was it. Anyways how does this work though? What are the scoring parameters? What do people get points for other than the obvious goals and assists and maybe clean sheet for a keeper? How many points for each?

You are missing out Loyan.
I think there's a pretty comprehensive guide about the scoring system in the rules segment.
For starters your bench doesn't count unless one of your first 11 doesn't play. Also you've massively over invested in defence - and you've got too many players from team, so you're more likely to be exposed to swings in form. Also you may want to consider going for a more attacking formation.
You're team is solid from a FIFA/football manager point of view but it's not a proper fantasy football team until you have a few 4.5 players in there

The points system is shit, it means that you have to go for end product players.
Keepers get points for minutes played, clean sheets, and number of saves.
Defenders get points for minutes played, clean sheets, goals, and assists.
Midfielders get points for minutes played, clean sheets, goals, and assists.
Attackers get points for minutes played, goals, and assists.
Bonus points are added on at the end of each round for players who played particularly well. The system means that goal scorers and creators are essential, and a Coquelin or a Matic for example are completely useless.
Yeah so I usually find it best to go with 3 at the back since your defenders don't get a lot of points, usually 3-4-3. And have the defenders be people like Baines who takes set pieces and penalties so gets goals and assists.
I really thought having Walcott and the Ox would get me lots of points against the Hammers. Whereas my son has Adrian as his keeper and was starting to worry. For some reason I also have Bojan in my team. I saw an article saying he had played in pre-season but it turns out to have been part of his longer recovery plan. He is still 2 weeks away. Doh.
Am resisting the wildcard urge so far, but really want to get Cabaye, Mahrez and Pelle into my team.
Yeah I went with Walcott, Ramsey and Cazorla and thought I'd get loads of points in that game.
I'd a feeling Waclott could be benched so went with Ozil, Mertesacker and Cech.

Cheers pal. Will have to take a look at some later today or tomorrow.

I see. So best to get a player or two from each team? I think our loss probably messed me up added to Chelsea's draw. Most of my players came from those teams. Might have to get rid of the Chelsea lot for their next game cuz they're playing City which probably means a dull draw.Irish gunner wrote:The points system is shit, it means that you have to go for end product players.

Ok, so all midfielders should be attacking mids or wingers pretty much as there's no point putting defensive ones on. We'll see how my second weeks goes. Being on like 12 points with others on 60+

Had Baines. Not sure if he even played. Didn't get me any points though. Will see if I can change formations. There didn't seem to be an option to do so last time I checked but maybe I missed something.
