Szczesny had the joint most clean sheets last season. So underrated.

He's a bit like Koscielny. Except that it's not only the other fans who underrate him, but Arsenal fans as well.

If he doesn't improve next season it's time to consider looking for an upgrade. Neuer, Courtois, and Buffon can win you titles. Lopez, Valdes, Sirigu, Lloris, and Cech are better established keepers and De Gea, Ter Stegen, and Scuffet are better young players. That's all off the top of my head.

😆 Great lets get in Neuer.

If reports are true, looks like we'll get the 2nd choice Nice keeper, Ospina.

The way I see it.

Tier 1 - Neuer, Courtois
Tier 2 - Navas, Diego Lopez, Lloris, Szcznesy, De Gea, Marshall, Scuffet, Handanovic, Guzan, Begovic, Mignolet...etc
Tier 3 - Tim Howard, Vorm, Valdes, Rui Patricio, Beto, Mannone, Foster, Boruc
Tier 4 - Ruddy, Green, Harper, Jaaskelainen

Navas is being vastly overrated after the WC.

Mignolet is shit and Buffon still belong to the top tier.

😆 Mannone.

Wasn't he voted best goalkeeper in La Liga last season?

Second tier:
Mignolet 😐
Marshall :\
Guzan :o

Third tier:
Mannone 😆

That list is all sorts of wrong.

Maybe Clrnc means Mannone should be playing in the third tier?

Not really, he was brilliant last season for Levante. His positioning for a keeper is impeccable.

I don't get why is Mignolet rated so poorly here, put Reina in his position and Liverpool wouldn't have finished 2nd last season. He singlehandedly saved them so many crucial points.

What is wrong with Mannone just about better than the shitty keepers?

Putting Mannone on Valdes' level is like putting Bendtner on Pedro's.

And Mignolet is terrible. He made more mistakes in one game (City away) than Szczesny made all season.

Mignolet is shite. My cousin who is a Liverpool fan wants him replaced, he makes a plethora of mistakes every match.

Navas isn't even tall enough to be a top class keeper, he looks good for shit teams who's goals get pummeled every game. His positioning for shots and his shot stopping was great to watch, but there is a lot more to goal keeping than that.

Mannone had a very good season. Being unfairly mocked here.

Casillas didn't do too bad at 5'11".

Casillas has always been horrible when it comes to commanding his area. That is the main thing for me why I never, ever rated him as world class.

Yea, Casillas did great in Spain, and he's almost 6'1" anyway, bout the same as Navas who is like a centimeter shorter than him. Casillas has always had obvious shortcomings, i.e. commanding his area on crosses and set pieces, mostly due to his height.

He was, for a time at least, absolutely brilliant in a way that Navas couldn't possibly be compared to, yet.

Ospina shouldn't displace Szczesny as No. 1 for the same reasons, btw.

Casillas was always a great shot stopper, and his distribution has always also been excellent. However, even during his peak he was shit on corners and crosses and, therefore, never world class. You can't have such a massive flaw and deserve that label IMO.

Exactly.

For me Casillas is possibly the most over-rated player of his generation. A lot of people would have him on a similar level to Buffon, especially after being the captain/leader of the brilliant Spanish side but i've never rated him as a top keeper. He was good no doubt, maybe one of the best in Europe at one stage but no way he should go down in history as a great keeper.... which i think might happen.
