Bit of a digression, but I can't be arsed following any football Twitter accounts. Social media's a fine source of links to news and opinion though—certainly better than anything that preceded it, with the possible exception of the heyday of RSS just before the current platforms took off.
What people always imagined to be "quality broadsheet analysis" is the crufty dead hand that got us to where we are today. We just couldn't see around the curtain before.
Transparency and fact-checking remain important in any context, of course, but the major papers are just reproducing the news wires and farming half-researched non-expert columns.
