If we have "ended" our interest in Vidal, we have interest is someone else. I doubt we would go from £21m Vidal to same price Carvalho. It has to be a player on a similar level then 🙂

There's nothing that suggests we're signing or even interested in Vidal. I do feel there's enough to suggest we're looking for a midfielder

Think we might've been after a midfielder if Coquelin hadn't turned up and made himself useful. We maybe have unreliable options in midfield but they're talented enough to keep Wenger interested. I think Wenger will wait and see who drops out from the big clubs after they're done scrapping for the big names.

If the reports are to be believed, Wenger chased him last summer, this Jan and now. He obviously wants a midfielder reinforcement despite Coquelin emergence. Not sure what to make of the quality of the U21 tournament. The Swedish team is in the final, and not a single one of those players look anything other than mediocre.

That's true. I don't even know what to make of the big teams that didn't play any good football either. Still think that 4 great performances at that level is no coincidence though and he really controlled the midfield in every game out there. Having said that, I can see why other clubs would be in for him, looks good, whether good enough to play for Arsenal I'm not sure.

Carvalho would be a good addition for us. Would offer proper competition for Coquelin, and has potential to become a top player in his position.

I didn't think much about him, even after the group stage when he was head and shoulders above the next best CM in the u21.

Then when he tore Germany apart, I started to get convinced. He never had to get to a sprint because his positioning is fantastic, but when he had to, he showed good pace. No way is he a slow player. Very powerful midfielder and tore Emre Can apart.

I said I'm not buying into this, but I found in the last days that (Cech apart) I find it hard to get excited,
