John Cross confirmed what a gooner friend of mine had suspected a while back. Wenger said when they were told Fabregas was available the deal to Chelsea had already been done. Cross also said Fabregas never wanted to join us but wanted to join Chelsea.

Doesn't really matter but it should stop all this bullshit I hear that we should have signed him.

the bullshit is that we didnt sign the guy who's tearing it up at chelsea, costa wouldn't even be as good without him, they wouldn't have him, and our young idiots would be better with him in the middle. so many plusses. cesc and wenger have both mentioned he could've been here if we wanted him, whoever is john cross

I think Wenger was just talking about the clause in his contract, not Fabregas' actual wants and desires.

Facts are that Cesc left Arsenal and now joined Chelsea. The rest is irrelevant really.
