Imagine that Iain Moody had the nerve to not tell Palace about any of this stuff when he was shopping for a new job, by the way. The texts and the incriminating evidence regarding the transfers were found in January. He had to have known that the story would break eventually and that it would reflect poorly on whoever had taken him into their organisation.

Of course they wouldn't have hired him. You're sort of required to tell them that you're being investigated for fraud at your former club at the very least. He went two months without telling Palace and then another seven knowing Cardiff had secured evidence, with the racism stuff as the cherry on top.

He's done it. Malky Mackay has actually gone and played the 'it's only banter' card in a statement by the LMA. Fucking wow.

These were two text messages sent in private at a time Malky felt under great pressure and when he was letting off steam to a friend during some friendly text message banter.

Strange, when I'm under pressure at work, to the point where I was being made redundant months before my wedding and was having problems with back stabbing snakes for colleagues, I never once felt the urge to act like a complete and utter wanker.

I get that these thing are private affairs, but calling it banter is plain wrong.

The man is clearly a bigot and will find it hard to get employed. However, I wonder how many football managers' messages have some of these undertone and how many racial slurs are made by managers and senior players to young players up and down the country? Football is still endemically racist at the top level, though they will try to air this out as a singular bad apple that is miles away from the average. I fear the average is closer to Malky Mackay than we would like to think.

It'll be great if the likes of Mourinho, Wenger and Pellegrini distance themselves away from the LMA for that statement. It seems likes nearly every professional body in football is either corrupt or still peddling stone aged views.
