So the reason he's had a season where he's not been, by any reasonable measure, discernably better than Welbeck is down to the fact that United are so much worse than us that a potential 20 goals plus a year striker has so far managed just 4?

Not sure it's true, I think Falcao's on the wane and playing in the PL is just exacerbating his issues.
He might hit a decent patch between now and May but he's not going to be what they're paying for.
He should head for Spain if Monaco don't want him back.

He's had an injury hit season. Welbeck has played consecutively for months as the sole striker. Falcao's had almost half the playing time, in his first season in the PL.

in the PL: Falcao 864 mins, 4 goals
Welbeck 1432 mins, 4 goals.

Falcao is on the wane, nowhere near his AM performances, but he's still a good striker.

Completely agree. Age plus injury makes it questionable if he can reach his former levels. At the moment there's not much about him.

Hmm at that rate he should have scored 7 goals.
That's still way off 20 plus a season form.

We'll see how the rest of the season pans out but I've seen zip from Falcao so far that makes me fed up that we didn't get him.

And If you're point Is that he'd score 20 for us - he'd need to be seriously upping his conversion rate.

Falcao is shite. United fans would gladly take Welbz over him, and rightly so.

Those goals per game numbers are pointless, people should stop using these kind of stats. Welbz has done far more than just scoring those goals. Falcao does nothing over a course of a game other than falling down 100 times, and missing sitters. The guy is out of his depth.

Falcao is dogshit. He's done a Torres bigtime. He hasn't done a single thing even close to impressive this season.

Anyone here saying he's still a good striker hasn't seen enough of him this season.

This guy used to be electric, which Welbeck never has been. Prior to that pre-World Cup leg break he was one of the five top strikers in the world along with Ronaldo, Messi, Ibra and Cavani. It's gone to shit since. Feel very sorry for him. Welbeck has never even had a game where he looked world class.

Personally, I wouldn't use the word electric to describe Falcao. Even pre-World Cup break, I think Suarez, Aguero, and Costa were better than him.

Falcao is underwhelming but your 66% there are viewing through manc-tinted glasses. Some of the most awful sort of glass tinting.

No the reason he has been discernibly better than Welbeck is because if you stick him on the field for 90 minutes he's roughly twice as likely to score a goal.

according to BBC, Sterling ruled out of tonight's game V Tottenham with the knock he picked up V Everton. Hoping for a draw there. Liverpool are probably more likely to be bigger competition when there's a couple of games left. And a draw would also mean any emotional hedgers won't benefit.

Yeah a draw would be ok, not as much fun as seeing Spurs lose, but bearable all the same.

A draw would be best. Last thing we need is Liverpool gaining a little bit of belief. We need to create two more points between us and them while also overleaping Spurs
