No, not at all. Arteta is not a pure sitter also. We just need two all-action midfielders with great engines and (defensive) instincts. We have one in Ramsey already. Arteta is slowing down so upgrading to Khedira would be nice. He can easily curb his attacking instincts, there is no need to make it sound like his "weakness", what matters are his defensive attributes which can be as great as any, if asked to play that role.

I've seen Khedira play a disciplined role in a double pivot a bajillion times. He's got the energy to get up and down but he's not some thicko who can't screen a back 4 if and when needed.

I have watched a lot of Madrid Games over the years, his best games come when he has someone beside him who sit and play the DLP; whether it is Alonso or Modrić. Every game where he his asked to play a more restricted role he looks lost and 90% of the time he gets substituted. Even when he plays for Germany Bastian Schweinsteiger always the one that Dictate play from deep.

I have been saying he's nothing more than a square peg in round hole.

khedira doesn't look great when sitting in. his instinct is to drive forward with energy, and not dictate tempo from a deep position. don't think it rules him out from being a useful signing for us.

That's my opinion of him as well. Doesn't mean it won't work for us to have 2 b2b players togther, but we'd need to change our setup.

Spot on. I remain unconvinced that he would be a suitable option for us.
