Asking to be released from his contract suggests he's either got another offer or he's burnt out.

Shame, I wanted him to replace Wenger. Thought he was a really good fit, he admires Arsenal and has a good relationship with Wenger.

Hope he doesn't go to City. With their money and quality, to play Klopp's pressing game would be really hard opponents.

This was surely the night he decided enough is enough.

I agree with Patters on this season throwing up some doubts about Klopp. I have not seen Dortmund play in any other way than what has brought them success in the past, even when it hasn't worked this season. I don't know how flexible Klopp is because his team's high pressing style is not sustainable for an English side that also plays in the CL. A physical league with 2 Cups and no winter break plus Europe. It's just not sustainable.

That's not to say he isn't a good manager.

Hopefully Wenger & co are investigating the availability of Reus, Hummels etc. seriously now. Dortmund look unlikely to even get Europa League football next season, without Klopp at the helm I see no reason why any of their star players will want to stay there.

Before this season I would have been concerned by the thought of Klopp managing one of our rivals but this season really has dented his reputation somewhat.

He's a good manager who's had a poor season - having your team stripped of it's best player season after season eventually takes it's toll.
He's been hamstrung by injuries to key players as well.

Possible that he might be the kind of manager who's Impact starts to wear off after a few seasons. He does demand a huge workload from his players.

Our current manager finishes fourth when those things happen,though!

He's young enough to learn and alter his style after this bad season. needs to find the suitable times to use his current style and find an alternative when all out pressing isn't as necessary to win.
