that real madrid lineup is how we should lineup and if they can play kroos and modric, we should be able to play ramsey and wilshere.

FT Dortmund 2-0 Bayern Munich

Missed most of the match, only caught the last 30 minutes. Apparently Dortmund were very impressive in the 1st half, they could have scored more in the 2nd half but Immobile didn't look sharp in-front of goal.

It looks like rumours about Bayern using 3 CBs this season are true, they played 3-4-3 today. Dortmund have also changed formation, they are using the narrow 4-3-1-2 formation which I would like us to use this season.

Dortmund's strength in depth at CB is very impressive : Ginter, Hummels, Sokratis, Subotic.

Probably the club with the best collection of CBs in Europe?

Rate Juventus's stash of CB higher. Even Chelsea and City's are better actually.

It's more intense in the sense that its much more box to box than any other league. We also do not happen to have the offensive power of their's to effectively pin teams back and put less pressure in our central midfield. Lastly, the way we play uses the central midfielders so much more. Kroos and Modric are more disciplined and they can afford to let their offensive players do their job, we can't. If last year's big matches capitulation didn't show you how much we needed a proper central midfielder, then you will never get it. Wilshere and Ramsey partnership will leave so much spaces between the lines.

then ramsey and wilshere need to be disciplined in their play. if being disciplined is good enough for kroos and modric, it damn sure isn't beneath our guys. and i don't see why they couldn't allow sanchez, walcott and ozil (and i guess giroud) to do their jobs.

Ronaldo, James, Benzema, Bale. All 4 of them are world class players who can carry the ball forward at will and have enough about themselves to get goals, are you serious about comparing them to our players who need plenty of support from the midfielders? Without Ramsey's running, without his shuttles forward to get goals we'd be struggling to score goals. Not to mention sitting back isn't Wilshere's game at all.

Yes but on the other hand we didnt have ozil, theo, sanchez, and giroud on the pitch at the same time.

To me the suggestions seems valid. Why can't we emulate that formation with more discipline from our 2 CMS?
