That number is simply not true. The rumour about the shirt number being equal to his wages was made up as another stick to beat him with (and Arsenal). As for where he'll go I think Turkey or Russia beckons for him.

I think the 52k is true? That was the structure at the time, all sorts of shot were on stupid dough.

Do you have another figure that B52 was compensated with weekly?

Was on big wages because of mechanisms in his contract that he, surprisingly, activating.

First hits on google for "Bendtner Arsenal wage"

When Bendtner got convicted for drunk driving he was made to pay a penalty calculated on the basis of his wages which was around 1m Danish kroner per month. That equals a weekly salary of around 27k in pounds. I can dig up the links but they're in Danish.

That's probably after tax. Or not even, just creative accounting.

I know a guy who refused to pay his parking ticket, went to court, lost and after they calculated his earnings versus his expenses, the judge decided he could only afford something like £3 a week or might have even been as low as £3 a month. Whatever it was, he was laughing at how ridiculously low it was and made a point of mentioning it time and time again. Bendtner's lawyers would not have missed this trick!

They tried yes, but they failed. They got zero discount from the original penalty.

Ok then let's ignore all the papers and everyone else and just take your word for it cos you half heard some local news.

Talking about and assessing youth =/= overrated them. No one has rated Afobe for a long time, not many did in the first place.

Actually a while back both Afobe and Aneke seemed to be very highly rated. Whether this was just people on internet forums or within the club I obviously can't be sure, but many tipped both for success. There was talk of both being coveted by Barcelona for example, and Afobe had a promising loan spell two or so years ago

As it stands they both look Championship standard, but perhaps they will get a break for a promoted team in the PL or the like, who knows

"Heard some local news". It's facts based on a court ruling but if you want to keep disputing that feel free. Gives you even more reason to despise the guy so why not?

If you have facts present them.

Segway obviously knows about this...

Good luck, Chuks. Always had a soft spot for him, though deep down I knew he's never going to start running. His reading of the game, eye for a pass and his shooting are top. unfortunately in this game you also have to move a bit.

(the other guys? pffft.)

Alright. Here are the fachts:

Nicklas Bendtner has admitted drink driving . He gets three -year driving disqualification and a fine of 842,000 kroner.

Nicklas Bendtner met this afternoon in court in Copenhagen , where his hearing started at 15:00 . His lawyer Michael Juul Eriksen working on setting up the fine of 842,000 kroner, which the prosecutor requires that Bendtner pays for his drunken driving Saturday night , where his blood alcohol was measured at 1.75 .

However, it was not for the defense attorney to convince the judge who sentenced Nicklas Bendtner fine of 842,000 dollars and has been banned from driving for three years.

The penalty is calculated from Bendtner's annual salary , which is estimated to be 12 million kroner. Annual earnings were divided by 25 and multiplied by the tax rate of 1.75 . Could Bendtner not pay the fine , which of course he may well , he could instead sit 60 days in jail.
Bendtner has only been deprived of the right to drive in Denmark and can thus drive a car again when he sets foot outside the Danish border. It is up to the authorities of other countries to deprive him of the right to drive if they consider it necessary .

Just google translated the text. His yearly salary is 12m Danish kroner which equals a little above £1.3m. Divide that by 52 to get his weekly wage and you end up with £25.000. Surprise, surprise the 52k figure is nonsense.

All the English papers report over £50k. Everytime he's tried to move on his wages have been a stumbling block, even loan deals have been a problem because of his wages. Thats not something that happens when a player is on £25k a week.

I guess the court got it wrong then.

Are fines calculated using the day fine system (dagsbøde)?

I believe that traffic violations and related incidents are. If so, it's calculated after taxes, social security payments and a basic living allowance of €255 per month have been deducted.
