Didn't he say he didn't know who Jack Wilshere was when he won some award in 2010 ahead of Jack? He is a nutcase but a brilliant footballer. We aren't getting Cavani and he is a fantastic alternative. Prefer him to Benzema.

Cesc stated clearly that he signed early for Chelsea in order to get the deal out of the way so that he wouldn't be distracted during the WC.
Most players and their agents aren't in that kind of rush.

We don't really need the player to have a deal in place, all dealings go with the club/agent, agree a deal in principle, then after the world cup do the medical. Even Wenger doesn't have to leave his punditry commitments if he leaves it to Gazidis to deal with, by giving him the figures.

I agree, it doesn't make much sense - I said so myself. But it's premised on the idea that some other form of consideration (business outside football) is changing hands. For what it's worth, Luiz's fee is also a nonsense.

I think he's trying to imply Italy play a more negative game than we do and Balotelli works best in such a set up. Italian teams being defensive is just an old stereotype which everyone keeps on repeating.

Prandelli's teams have always been very attack minded. This Italy side are probably even more attacking than we've been over the past 2 seasons and are certainly more adventurous than Mancini's City.

doesn't mean agreements can't be made. we just had big thread about a world cup player who arsenal had first option on joining chelsea. aren't all of chelsea's "agreed upon" signings at the world cup? there is no rule that you have to wait until the world cup is done and if it's about players taking pictures in puma kits and not nike, just take the photos in july.
