People are going overboard about Campbell, he's had a few good games playing with his friends and countrymen in a fun tournament in a climate very familiar to him.
Such players often struggle in Europe playing in a highly structured set up.
So lets just see how much better he does when he comes up against a very disciplined side.

He apparently had a strong season at Olympiacos who became Greek champions a few weeks ago. Boy has interesting qualities in that he predominantly plays on the right for his club, but as a lone striker for his country. Pace and a class left peg and good in 1 v 1 situations. We could do a lot worse.

Has scored against Spain, United in the CL, and now Uruguay at the WC. Not bad for a 21 year old.

Haven't seen him at Olympiakos but while on loan at Betis I saw 5-6 full games of him and he could very well make it here. He was playing right wing there, did a lot of tracking back as Betis played quite defensively and every time he was one of their better players.
The assist yesterday was not a fluke, he's got a good vision and his passing and crossing is good enough off both feet. Only question marks are how he copes with the physicality of the PL as even at Betis he was usually subbed off around 60-70th minute regardless of his performance. Anyway with the natural talent he has he deserves a chance to prove himself, I'd loan Gnabry out and keep him for next season as I think his best position in our system would be on the right wing.

Quite liked the Ecuadorian left winger, whose name now escapes me. Pacey, very direct and comfortable going both on the inside and the outside.

Yup, Montero. Was quite amazing IMO the amount of sprints he made during his 70 minutes on the pitch.

Wouldn't have him as a starter straight away but wouldn't surprise me if he does well there. I'd prefer having him over Gnabry for sure as we lack direct wingers more than midfielder type. The way I see it we don't use classic wingers but forwards and midfielders on the wings with the latter group consisted of Oxlade, Cazorla, Wilshere, Rosicky, Gnabry, while our only direct wingers are Theo and Podolski. Having Campbell ahead of Gnabry and Rosicky on the wings would bring better balance to the squad and although ideally we'd sign a ready-made player I think a striker to compete with Giroud will be our only addition to the front 4 this summer.

Yep I agree with that, we always lack width when Theo is out.
Campbell Giroud and Sanogo it is then.
