Well then point out why in your opinion Wenger is such a good manger rather that aiming personal barbs at me.

in a decade without a title, there have only been three constants: Wenger, Walcott and Gunnersaurus.

You're right. We should call Barca and see if we can sell back Sanchez for the same cash we bought him, no questions asked. Sell Özil too, and Ramsey. What's the point of going for quality players if we can't have a striker? Maybe we could offer our four best guys to PSG in exchange for one of theirs?

Of all asinine opinions casually thrown around in this place, this has to be the worst one. People are trying so hard to pretend they wouldn't bite someone's hand off right now for Marco Reus, or Mario Götze, or even Antoine Griezmann. There are a million ways to improve this current, sorry excuse of a team, but they all start with getting your hands on better players. Wenger expected Jack Wilshere to provide him with a world class player for free this season and it backfired again. He needs to get off his ass and fix this.

That's not what I said. Read the post.

I don't believe there is a real chance to sign a top level ST or FW, especially this summer:
1) there is a dearth of them at non-top teams (we can't really expect to buy from ManCity, Barca, Bayern, etc. under normal circumstances);
2) the likes of Reus and Griezmann do not seem to be itching to move;
3) somewhat available options like Benzema, Cavani, Higuain, Lacazette all have bigger or smaller questions marks (recent form, age, ability);
4) ManU, Real, PSG, even Chelsea will compete with us upon any decent available attacking option.

It wouldn't be pointless though. The more we improve, the greater our chance to win the pl becomes. We also need much more than just a striker to compete with the best teams in Europa, so we have to constantly look for improvements.

Yeah, I agree I said long term there is benefits. but short term as in this season, we won't finish above third.

Maybe. Depends on the quality of the player. If we for instance signed a top class CB and LW, we'd have a good chance of winning the pl.

I havent said much during this Benzema circle jerk..  but you are not the only one to feel this way.

that said, i disagree with your edit..  I honestly dont see Benzema being any better than Cavani..   less goals in a team that scores boatloads more goals than teams cavani has played for..  as for giroud, ok, maybe.   but i agree i wouldnt turn him down..  just dont think he's the all THAT special

Thirded. If it's Benzema or nothing (/Welbeck), then of course I'd take Benzema, but I've never been thoroughly convinced by the Frenchman.

Same boat.

At least this italian dude is specific, doesn't give himself any room to wriggle out of his claims 😆

When was the last time we unveiled a player before a game? Have we ever?

Fair point there Biggus. At least within the context of realistic signings.

That italian bloke is a fraud.

In other news, AS ran a fan poll of the preferred real starting 11 and benzema was on the bench according to them
