Arsenal v Rangers, (17th October 1951), Highbury.
Wow. That is a brilliant pic. For all the high tech and luxury of the Emirates, I still like Highbury a lot more.
What an absolutely stunning photograph, doesn't even matter if you like football.
i'll always prefer the old stadiums with 4 stands. they just look and feel better than the ovals.
RTC and I recently went a stood inside Highbury for around an hour. It's as spiritual as i've ever felt.
Stunning shot BT.
According to the blog post it came from, that's the second ever match under lights at Highbury.

When I was in London last time they were doing some work at Highbury square which meant the gates were open. Was in there for about half an hour, and I totally get what you mean. The memories...

Which goal were you replaying over and over in your head?
I was Dennis Bergkamp on the edge of the box, turning two Juve defenders, and flicking it through for Freddie.
It still amazes me at how good nick the East Stand is in. Incredible and beautiful stand/building.
I certainly thought of numbers 21, 17, 11, 7, 5, 2 and 1 in this vid. And that was just the Henry goals! Honestly, I could have stayed there for a very, very long time.
That goal against Inter. :dulaoohtobe:
Zanetti was the best fullback in the world at the time, probably the quickest one too. Henry did him for pace on the counter, then stopped and let him get back into position just to humiliate him again. Zanetti knows that Henry is going to go around him on the outside and there's nothing he can do about it. That's how you break a player.

Indeed, every area of the ground had its own culture, from posh to piss where you stand.
Another footy one I've always loved
Really like this one from the start of the season
i'm glad i got to see her just before they started the condo conversion, but the pitch was in a horrible state - it was kind of sad, actually.
Taken 9 years ago today by Stuart McFarlane whose job I envy so so much.
Hmm. Can't quite place it, but that looks somewhat familiar.
Try and guess what's happening here before researching. If you already know, shush and let others have a bit of fun. I don't mind you cheating then claiming you already knew, later!
