Nani has reportedly lost all appetite for the game. He has been dreadful ever since his injury woes began.
Find it hilarious that United are stuck with such deadwood as him, Anderson and Zaha. All on decent wages too.
United are a bit like we were a few seasons ago. A couple of world class players, a few young players with potential and a lot of dross tied up to long term deals.
And I don't undwerstand why van Gaal is insisting on playing a 3-4-1-2. It makes no sense given the type of players in that squad. They don't have any real wingbacks and they're short at CB. They also have traditional wingers in Nani and Young and their best young talent is a creative wide player in Januzaj. So why in the world are they switching to 3-4-1-2?
I think it's down to wanting to accommodate RvP, Mata and Rooney in their best positions.
To do that he has to sacrifice classic type wingers, and release the full backs more for width. That leads to a problem of not having sufficient defensive cover on the break, unless you play 3 central defenders. In attack, one of the defenders should play as an anchor, somewhat like our Arteta, and allow the other two mids to be more attacking.
It depends on how van Gaal wants to play it though. A 3-4-1-2 can be very defensive or quite adventurous.
