Decent balance in their squad, but I find them all a bit meh and boring. Similar with Chelsea. Their attackers don't excite me.

Chelsea and City both look really strong p.t. Don't think we'll be able to challenge them unless we bring in a few more players.

As far as going forward goes I don't think there's much separating us, Chelsea or City. They have a bit more depth in the striker department but we've got more in the attacking midfield positions. Only notable difference in the squads lie in the first choice centre mid pairing.

Not so much Oscar and Fabregas. It's pace and power, mixed with technical ability that I want to see. Chamberlain and Sanchez excite me more. Think we'll see a lot more of Schurle than Oscar next season at Chelsea myself as well.

Agree, I feel we can compete with them in terms of attacking midfielders. However, we are seriously lacking in the striker department especially if Diego Costa starts off well or if Aguero remains fit for more than half the season. That's not even taking into account the other strikers they have available.

While, with City and Chelsea once again adding to their centre midfield options, they have much more flexilibity in those areas. For example, City could quite easily play Toure ahead of Fernando and Fernandinho.

United lack a holding midfielder for me and the step down from the duo of Ferdinand and Vidic at their peak to what they have now is significant. Van Persie and Rooney aren't getting younger too. That's the problem of having 2 ageing strikers on more than half a mill a week combined.

As long as Sanchez plays-up top in the big games we're a holding midfielder and maybe a centre back away on the basis Ospina signs next week.

I don't thing you could argue anyone has more flexibility than us. Almost of our midfield/forward players can play in any one of 2-4 different positions/roles. Only thing City have added with Fernando is numbers which we have anyway. What we're lacking is a first teamer to play alongside Ramsey, i.e. a Fernandinho or Matic.

That's a good summer's work for the saints. Will struggle to field 11 but who cares about that.

Wow...they got 20mil for a central defender? That should put him among the top CB transfers - Southampton really do know how to get the bang for their buck. No way we are getting Schneiderlin for anything near a reasonable price, on this basis.

Hah, about 50 goals separating us from City, unless Sanchez delivers the holy grail.
