You have to overspend excessively in order to give yourself a big chance to get back to winning ways. Especially when you are not in UCL.
They can't let their reputations drop for a few seasons and it will be very uphill from then.

The fee for Shaw will prove to be a bargain, but the Herrera deal is a risk IMO since it is far from certain he will shine in the PL. Man U is a mega club though financially, so they can easily afford it.
United will have to sell. They have a huge squad and wage bill now
United have always spent big. I think I recall counting as many as 10 United players who cost more than our most expensive player before we signed Ozil. They have been operating in a different realm financially for the last decade. You saw how much they spent on even Fellaini last year. Spending 60m on 2 players is nothing to them, even without Champs League
Apparently Real Madrid are really close to signing Toni Kroos from Bayern.
That's good news. I hope we get Khedira then.
Fantastic signing for Madrid if true. Glad Utd has signed Ander and not Kroos.
I'd rather United had got Kroos if they end up getting Vidal.
Lallana has completed his move to Liverpool
Meh
Can't say I'm jealous.
Those are tricky words to pronounce.
Try breaking it down into two bits
I'm

25m. cesc went for only 5m more. dat brit tax.
They've overspent by about 10m but he's a good player. I reckon he's the main Suarez replacement and they'll play 4-3-3 next season.
rodgers has done well in developing his young english contingent tbf. sterling, sturridge, henderson, flanagan have all progressed. lallana will probably be usefu for them in the epl.
if they plan to keep suarez, i reckon thats liverpools spending done. theyve filled out their squad but theres still big weaknesses there
Rumours of Falcao to Madrid.

That group of players looks like an Everton lineup to me.
Lallana for £25m
Lallana and Shaw proving the price of English players is still about twice what they're worth.
Is Shaw to united done and official?
Good moves for Pool. I don't think people appreciate just how in form and healthy all of Sturridge, Suarez and Sterling were for the 2nd half of last season. They won't have that for 2 seasons in a row.
The positive for us is that 25m spent on Lallana is hopefully 25m not spent on Sanchez :-)
