Spurs in talks to sign Romelu Lukaku

A good signing for them should it happen, but it doesn't really strengthen them; Adebayor is a better player.
James Lippett (Yevhen Konoplyanka's agent) tweeted that he's on his way to Liverpool. A bit cryptic but Liverpool will probably be after him again. Dnipro chief has said he would rather sell to spurs and wasn't happy they tried to sign him just before the transfer window
A video on him for those interested
I would like him to be here, but looks like we are not even linked with him.
We must be in for Lukaku if he is available.
Chelsea won't sell to us and we need someone who can come in who is near enough the finished project, Lukaku still has to improve IMO. Great talent but another year at Everton will do him good.

I dunno, Chelsea might sell to us for that reason if we make a decent enough bid.
If Spurs get Lukaku and we're left with Giroud I'll weep.
Lukaku isn't the answer for us IMO. He is quite a bit better than Giroud, but I don't think he is anywhere near good enough to be our first choice anyway. If he is the guy we get in I will be severely disappointed.
I agree Rex, but I'd rather Lukaku as a backup than Giroud.
No arguments from me there, gov.

Surely we need to aim higher ourselves, rather than help Chelsea fund a move for a top class striker?
Like I said, Lukaku as our alternative striker would appeal to me.
Would be an expensive 2nd choice! Reckon Chelsea would want at least £20m for him. I definitely wouldn't be against it but think Giroud won't be sold this summer.
Personally we should blow our money on one big striker and someone like Drmic, Batshsuyi or Remy as backup. The backup would have to be quick and able to play outwide.
Lukaku would be an incredible signing imo. Geezer is 20 years old and would already be bagging 20 league goals in our team. Under a manager like Wenger he'd become unplayable. We'd be sorted up front for the next 10 years.
Lol at anybody turning their eye on Lukaku...
Guy scored a brace against Liverpool, scored at the Emirates, hatrick against the champions united (Not the mid-table outfit this season). He's also pretty quick. At 20 he's a much better player than Giroud and he's only going to get better.

Personally the club can buy Lukaku for 20m and we can get 10-15m off Giroud alone.
Lukuaku should be considered if available. Set up a plan such as
Cavani, Costa, Mandzukic, Balotelli, Benteke, Lukaku, etc Reus, Griezmann, Remy, etc
and work our way down each list until we have one man from each list.

To say the least. Skinned Kos at The Emirates.
I wouldn't consider that particularly expensive for a striker at a top club. He'd play plenty even as a second choice anyway.
Lukaku is exactly the sort of player I'd gamble on if we can't sign a Costa. Questionable technique, movement and decision making to say the least, but he's a monster physically and his goalscoring record is decent. I could definitely see him turning into an Adebayor at the very least.
