I hope I'm wrong though. Charles Dance has been carrying the show together with Peter Dinklage and Nicolaj Coster-Waldau for a while now. I'm not sure it can recover from that blow. The last thing pointless arseholes like Theon, Ramsey and Stannis need is more screen time.

You are right, Klaus, Charles Dance has been brilliant throughout. I'd add him to the 'thoroughly unpleasant' crew though.

He's a thoroughly unpleasant person for sure but his motives are restricted to wealth and power, not revenge and sadism. Again, I think the way they described him in that scene at the Iron Bank was pretty revealing. He's the pin in the grenade. We all know what George does with grenades.

Dance has performed his role brilliantly indeed so far, I must say. Exactly the sort of Tywin you'd expect from reading the books.

Jamie would be a bit too harsh, even for Martin's standards. Why hack him is right arm off, and kill him/let him die just a bit later? I think Jamie hasn't yet suffered enough for Martin. 😆

Their deaths wouldn't have enough impact on the story. I expect The Hound to be gone or incapacitated soon too. They can't drag the Abbot and Costello routine between him and Arya forever.

You'd be surprised what Martin can do. It was a friend of his who repeatedly said he should put dragons in it which made him do that btw. 🙂

Stannis is the farthest thing from pointless. He is a brilliant character. As Davos said, the war is not over while Stannis is still alive. I do agree with you about Charles Dance carrying the show. He is consistently in the best scenes of the show.

Dinklage is in the most memorable scenes for me. He is lucky that Martin gave the character such great lines!

Uninteresting character, same as Joffrey used to be. Pantomime villains.

did Joffrey ever do one decent or kind thing in the series. his mother is almost as bad, but at least she is driven by desire to protect her family. he never had any cause
