So the draw is done and we face Wigan in the semis

Thoughts?

They still have many players experienced in playing in the top flight such as Boyce, Ramis, Maloney, Jordi Gomez, Mcarthur etc. with some youngsters such as the impressive McManaman and the loanees Mceachran and Powell.

It's going to be their 5th game in 15 days so as regards fixtures though-

It's not cockiness, it's confidence that we have a team good enough to beat Wigan.
That's not to say that we take them lightly, they are Cup holders, they've beaten City twice and they have winning big game Wembley experience, clearly they know what they need to do.
It's could be tough for us, but I don't feel in any way cagey or worried about this.

Of course we need to take the opponent seriously - we fucked up against Birmingham when we could have ended the trophy drought. And they did show they have what it takes - they are the cup holders, and they beat city.
But they are 7th in the championship. I'd take that over city, or any top 10 team. We need to be prepared - really prepared, and show up. And we will beat them. Saying this is not cockiness. It's sanity.

Wow. Just seen the Wigan result. Trophy up for grabs, winning this has to be top priority now. Can't help thinking Birmingham. It's about time to end this trophy drought and win one post Highbury, whatever the trophy. Get a new year printed up there so the cameramen can stop zooming in on 2005 every 2 minutes.
