I agree on the price of players. Thats why I started the internal solutions thread. We just aren't going to sign 4 quality players this summer.

I think with Kos ageing out CB should be our priority. After that though I'm not so sure a keeper or DM/CM would make us better than having a quality winger. Now I will say you can probably buy the same quality keeper and mid for the price of a top attacker at the moment so thats worth considering too. I just think if we agree we'd like new CB, defensive CM and GK maybe 2 of that 3 would be enough and then a top winger could push us on. Maybe Mislintat can find us a brilliant player for a cut rate somewhere. That'd be nice.

Qwiss, we've needed that quality DM for ages. And you know what, I would happily sell Xhaka and beef up depth with internal solutions if need be. Some putz will give us 20m. We'll never recover the 35m StatDNA blew on him.

I am assuming our need for a top winger is to replace some of the goals we lost with Sanchez and theo.
Cant that position be replaced by youngsters?

Thats why I felt a DM and CB are more important than any new external additions to the attack as we cannot have inexperience in those positions.

I think the 60 goals we lost from Sanchez, Walcott and Giroud is overrated. If we can get our new offense to click and we get the benefit of fewer Sanchez turnovers, we can easily overcome this. I also think that a better offense will likely bring out some goals from Ramsey and even Iwobi. Just watch.

But that DM. It sticks out like a sore thumb.

His pre-Arsenal form and age along with a rising market should get us back the money we spend on him if we want to sell. Buyers tend to look at a players best spell rather than their worst, like us taking Mkhi.

I'd happily sell Xhaka and Elneny in the summer if we get Jack and Aaron to sign on. Then use the money for a fit for purpose midfield to partner which ever one of those 2 is fit that week. AMN as back up then.

Or see what a new manager can from Xhaka. Either way.

I'd rather have Xhaka than Bakayoko. We need a CM no doubt, but a real upgrade isn't as easy as some seem to think. Lots of players out there with some really glaring flaws, going to be interesting to see who the Team identifies.

Thats why you need team cohesion, we aren't going to get many players who don't have glaring weaknesses. You need to have players whose strengths and weakness balance each other. 3 of Ramsey, Wislhere, Xhaka, Ozil is not a balanced midfield.

We don't need a DM, no club needs a DM. You need a guy who can pass quickly under pressure, that's it.

You need a guy who can make tackles and interceptions without stopping play/attracting red cards. He then needs to do what Gurgen has described - pass the ball quickly under pressure. Sometimes he will need to just do the latter. But he is even more effective if he can do both of these things and can catch the opponent unawares.

Coquelin is a DM. He can't do what I described above. We believe Xhaka is a DM. He definitely cannot do what I have above
