Link up play looks good and he scores

ok say you're right about his link up play (i don't see the he scores part), how does that benefit us with ozil in the side? i'm not opposed to good link up play from a striker, just opposed to these 1 goal in 3 at best types.

Could always just take a punt on Pato if we're going that way. He's 100% available for 11m (15m euro) or less.

Little worrying that with less than a week to go we're having to resort to the wishlist to keep the Red Tops section alive. Even the Houseboat thread is starved of any links.

PATO? oh God no.. before he went on to be injured for 2 seasons, i would have been all over that.. since then, he's been a pale shadow of what he could have been. we have enough perma-crocks at the club. His style of play was based on quick movements, which lend themselves to getting muscle strain after muscle strain, which is exactly what happened at Milan. Plus, he hasnt exactly been brilliant after going back to Brazil.

fit maybe.. quality - ive heard patches of quality, but hardly consistent.

bringing him back to europe will only guarantee his injury history repeats itself.. just a hunch

Kevin Nolan's available on a free. I'd take him at this point.

Just go for Julian Draxler, Domenico Berardi and Adrien Rabiot. They're all young, they're all very talented. Each of them have a lot more upside than any young player we've got in their respective position. Some of them might not work out in the long run, but who cares really. We need to be a bit proactive. Take a few chances. If we do nothing we fail by default.

draxler/yarmolenko and rabiot are the 'gettable' names ive been thinking about the last few days as well. not the finished article but imo can contribute from day one because they bring qualities we dont have in the squad

Definitely fits the bill of the kind of player I'd like to see on the wings for us. Might not be athletic enough, but he's still young.

Having said that, I'm tired of our style or play, our formation and a lot of out players. We need more pace upfront and more technique throughout our front 6.

Encourage the strikers to drift out to the wing when we attack down their flank.
Keep the midfield behind the ball and let them take turns making late runs into the box.
Bench Ramsey and let him win his place back.

ive been giving this some thought. i think this is my wish:

that we play a more conventional 4-3-3.

coquelin at the base, then ramsey and wilshere ahead of him, and then two wingers (alexis as LW and ox at RW) and then a striker. i am not sure where ozil fits. when he is fit, i guess he can play LW and alexis can play RW. or we can try alexis at ST again.

wilshere and ramsey and can be xavi and iniesta, and i think coq is good enough to play the central deep mid role by himself. i really think we need to start pushing our wingers wide, forcing them to create space and drag defenders out of position.

we should sign the best winger that is available, and we should also sign cover for coq. and we should obviously sign zlatan or benzema.

we need help. but even more than external reinforcements, we need to change our formation.

We tried exactly that early last season and it's fair to say it was a complete and utter disaster.

dropping ozil is a major mistake. he has his faults but his technical ability and vision are needed badly. jack, chambo, and rambo are in line to get the keys to the kingdom but not yet
