Gabriel's unproven, but he might be good enough.

It's true we ended up doing fairly well defensively by our recent standards last season, 36 is creditable for goals conceded. Champions usually keep it down to 30 or fewer.

Keeper is definitely the area in defence with the most potential for improvement, though I think we could get away with it. I think every other area is adequte. I'm quite excited by Gabriel too. Hoping after 6 months and a full pre-season he'll be ready to roll.

the more we are linked with DMs, the more i think Ki is actually the answer. hes not quite as strong as a player like kondogbia, but he's better on the ball, reads the game very well, and isnt a midget. and he'll cost a fraction of the price and doesn't have to worry about adjusting the premier league. we were linked to wanyama a ton earlier this year too, and he'd probably cost less than schneiderlin and kongdong, but he isnt as good on the ball and id worry about that. ki would be a perfect rotation option with coq.

How's that? Ki signed a new contract less than 12 months ago and plays for a club that's run well and doesn't need to sell.

Was watching Argentina's rout of Bolivia. Aguero has the ball in a crowded box. Moves away from goal and the quickly changes direction and unleashes a low shot into the far side of the net before the defenders can recover.
Benzema in the 2nd leg against Juventus brings the ball down with back to goal and a man on him, drops his shoulder, quickly turns and unleashes a left footed pile driver despite having little momentum. Almost scores.
This type of invention, mobility in tight spaces, and ever-present danger is what I'm missing in an Arsenal forward right now. I really hope Wenger addresses this because we are not getting it from Giroud, Welbeck or Walcott.

Agreed - it's 'interesting' that all 3 of our CF options off something very different in the area - Giroud looks to play back to goal to link with the ball players at the top of the area & to make runs to the near post; Welbeck looks to create space for other players like Sanchez to exploit by dragging defenders out of the area; Walcott looks to move into space facing goal & attack the channels so as to shoot. I'm not saying this is all they ever do but that it is their initial movement/decision making intent.

Honestly, i wouldnt even mind if we go young this summer besides Cech. Add Kondogbia to midfield and Draxler to attack.

He really isnt, but im just thinking about what Wenger has been hinting at and what is probable in the market - he only wants "super quality" and said we may not be signing older players this window.

So im ruling out Vidal, Benzema etc. although they are the actual wishlist, but they also depend on what other clubs do first, so we do not have a first say in it.

And GK is an exception to the age rule anyway.

Monaco is in financial trouble and are willing to listen to the offers for Kondogbia. Wenger has been a long time admirer. He's 6'2, built like a tank. Can play multiple roles in our midfield which we need and wouldnt have to be definite starter straight away.

Draxler is far less obvious choice, but we were in for him for €40m! Yes, he has had a torrid time with injuries, but the talent is there. Maybe the price has dropped? He's 6'2, is ambidextrous and still 21. He can come in quietly and get his groove on with his fellow germans as a Poldi replacement.

After the season Draxler has had, the price should definitely have dropped. Could be smart business to get him in now while his stock is low, but you'd be banking on him getting over injury problems/living up to potential. Would be a no brainer for around the £20m mark when you consider we could get a lot of that back from shipping Podolski and Campbell.
