Which is where someone like Lacazette/Gignac may be a more viable/realistic option in Jan.

Lacazette and Gignac are completely different kinds of signings in just about every way imaginable. Don't think they warrant a "/" between them.
Gignac is as similar as you can get to Giroud.

They're the top 2 goal scorers in Ligue 1 this season which is what I was looking for as 2 different CF options. Gignac has been used by Bielsa this season to concentrate on scoring rather than contributing to build-up / hold-up play & he's out of contract at the end of the season. Lacazette is even more clinical and likes to run at defenders and can hold the ball - IRC he has played as a WF previously.

We need to stop bringing in average to decent players. We already have far too many players like that in the squad. If we are to win the pl or cl in the near future, we need to significantly improve all areas of our first team. That means bringing in top players at Sanchez' level in defense, midfield and up front.

We need an experienced player to back up Ramsey in CM as well.

If we're not going to sign Hummells at any time then I still want a big, physical CB - we haven't had once since Sol.
IN - Cech, Hummells/Reid/Vlaar, Gonalons/Illarramendi/Krychowiak, Vidal, Reus/Lacazette, Benzema/Higuain = a new spine.
