Griezmann has been one of the best wide forwards in Europe this past season. Tore Barca apart a few times, and I think also managed to score against Real Madrid, so it's not like he's some no name player. With that said, he's played very little for the national side, so I haven't seen as much from him as I normally would from similarly talented players.

Did you watch him play in the friendly against Norway Spiff?
Not that it's any great benchmark but I heard he was one of the top performers of the night, linked very well with Giroud.

I'm really not a fan of our current attack, the fact that Kos is a better ball player than most of our forwards says it all.

I don't think we are particularly creative, any smart team could easily stop us from creating good chances.

Real are not buying a wing forward with Ronaldo and Bale in the team ffs.

don't know where this should go -- but apparently when told that fans are expecting a big summer, wenger replied "yes, they should expect this".

make of that what you will, I personally remain pessimistic about this summer.

I did. He was good, but it was Valbuena who really stole the show.

I wouldn't be over the moon if we signed Griezmann but he's definitely an improvement on what we have. He was one of the best forwards in La Liga last season, and his strengths (off-the-ball movement, finishing) correspond to the biggest weaknesses in last season's attack.

No room for too many 'functional' players in the team if we are to win the pl and cl. Need better all-round players. Players who can both assist and score.

Do we want to be one of the big boys in Europe?

We are an attacking team, we'll never have an elite attack with more than 1 player like that in our attack IMO. We'll even be behind the likes of Liverpool in that regard.

I think players like Griezmann are very easy to stop, I would like us to bring in players who are not reliant on the team playing well or quality service to be effective. Magicians with end products is the way to go IMO.

Didn't Vela say recently that Griezmann would thrive in the PL?
Said his game would be suited to the more straightforward football, or something along those lines.
Looking for the interview but can't find it.

I also think he would. Not saying he's a poor footballer because he isn't, but I just think we could and should do much better.

He's an ok player, but do we really want to spend £20 (?) mill on a player who will marginally improve the team? We don't need squad players or players who will come in and barely improve us. We need to sign 2-3 top class players who can really push us up to the next level. Our ambitions should be to win the pl and the cl, not just a slight improvement from last season. It's the same thing with Remy imo. Decent player who would do a good job for us, but we wouldn't really be any closer to winning the pl or cl with him.

To do that, we need aim high.

striker - Benzema, Balotelli and Morata
winger - Pedro, Sanchez, Di Maria
cm - Martinez, Schneiderlin, Koke
