i want a Mountain of a man in midfield. Pogba. a Pogba-Ramsey midfield would be unstoppable. we need to stop messing around with the Schneiderlins of this world. good player, but just another Arteta - someone who will help us maintain the status quo. we need two more super-duper quality players to help Ramsey. blow our stash on Pogba (35-40m) and Benzema (30m) and call it a day

Pogba and Ramsey looks great on paper but likely a disaster in practice. Both are too attack minded to work well in tandem.

Yeah, Pogba isn't going to cut it in a midfield with Ramsey and Özil. He's a great box to box player but we've arguably got a greater one already. There's no need to be jealous of Juventus here. Just sign someone who can play ball and knows how to sit and then splash the rest on a striker.

Tactics

Pogba was great playing in the holding role for the France U-21 team last summer and he's played there for Juve a lot in the absence of Pirlo, but he's too good going forward you wouldn't want him to just sit infront of the back 4. Maybe both Ramsey and Pogba in a box to box role? It could work but our wide players have to be strong defensively.

It would work, and would lift the team up to another level, quality wise.

Our system is going to emphasize Ramsey's freedom to make late runs. We're not going to be giving him defensive responsibilities to cover for another midfielder like Pogba bombing up the field.

You can't complain about having the likes of Arteta and Schneiderlin as holding players. We can absolutely win the PL with an Arteta-Ramsey or a Schneiderlin-Ramsey midfield. A lot of you would be belly-aching if we had Busquets in the team. We need attacking cutting edge to get over the line, not a big strong lad who kicks people in central midfield.

Monaco's owner is going to have a divorce that is gonna cost him _£2.7 BILLION lol. There's some speculation that he might want to get out from under Falcao's contract (but nothing more than that atm).

If that partnership were to work then Pogba would have to sacrifice a lot of what's making him great these days. And those attacking qualities are precisely what you pay an exorbitant fee for. Isn't it easier to just go out and get someone else who's already a good positional fit for that money?

they're both good 2 way midfielders. they can make it work. we just need to think differently about how we play the fullbacks. they don't push up as much, so that they can deal with the space behind. in any case, if both of these guys are going to push up regularly, then we can create wing on the playing side with the wide forward

Just get Schneiderlin in nice and early. He can run, pass, defend. Can partner Ramsey or Arteta, he's got decent power/size, 24, homegrown, used to the league. Can probably be done for around 20m with little competition and then you're central midfield is sorted for the foreseeable future.

Make a £30 mill bid for Martinez today. See how Bayern and Martinez reacts. If they are interested, sign him up. If there is no chance, sign Schneiderlin and spend money on a winger and a striker.

Keep Sagna, but still sign Aurier. Send Jenkinson on loan for a season or 2 with an eye of bringing him back when Sagna leaves, and Aurier becomes #1.
Schneiderlin - would take him ahead of Martinez. Cheaper, PL proven, and homegrown if I'm not mistaken.
One of Griezmann/Vela to play on the flank if we can manage to get some sort of deal with Real Sociedad.
Fart around on the CF situation until the last 3 days of the tran window when we pick up one of the cast-offs. Benzema/Mandzukic/Cavani/Lukaku maybe.

Said this a couple of times now, but if PSG sign Pogba this summer I would offer them a wad of cash for Marco Verratti. The lad is young and fairly inexperienced but he looks absolutely quality to me.
