Khedira or Kroos would be absolutely ace to partner Ramsey. Khedira has not had a good time at Madrid either; he is the fans' scapegoat, and he has said publicly that it hurts too.

Kheidra would be a massive fitness risk. Not sure we can take any more of those .

Why would he be a massive risk? He has recovered from his knee injury very well and will most likely go to WC.

Yeah, but that's why we have Flamini. Every big team rotates nowdays. We are not doing it enough and that's why all our main players get injured.

Yeah but we've already got Ramsey and Wilshere in midfield with problems stemming from serious injuries. Getting another midfielder with similar issues seems like asking for trouble.

How positionally sound is Khedira? Could he play as a holder? I've only see him play next to one.

It's so funny how for years one of the best places to find top players is Real Madrid rejects. They dispose of (and completely alienate) top players with incredible frequency.

Imagine adding Khedira/Benzema/Ozil to Kos/Ramsey/Walcott/Chamberlain/Wilshere! What a great blueprint for winning the Prem: British core + whatever top players Real want to sell at cut price. It's not out of the question.

I'd take Khedira, Benzema and Di Maria as soon as they want to dispose of them.

Khedira is excellent. Energetic, hard-working, good technically. Superb pressing player. That's why Mourinho and Löw both love him. He's the one doing the defensive work to free up space for Schweinsteiger in the German team.

Khedira is actually the kind of defensive midfielder you want. One who is very adept at sitting, but also very good at setting up offense from deep and getting forward as well. A class footballer

Yep the best type of midfielder we could get is an all-rounder. Flamini, Arteta and Wilshere all need certain type of players beside them and don't make good partnerships together. A Ramsey or Khedira can basically play with anyone else. We need someone else in the squad who is complete otherwise we lose too much when Ramsey is missing.

If City move for Barkley this summer, as has been rumoured, do we throw our hat in the ring as well? Is he too good a talent, and homegrown to boot, to turn down?

Can he be moulded into a top player in a position that could work in tandem with Ozil and Ramsey in a functioning team? I'm not sure Wenger could resist bidding for such a well rounded, technically gifted and versatile English prospect.

Just thinking out loud because I really like the player and can't see him staying at Everton for more than a season or two.

Dont really think Barkley is worth the trouble (price). We have Ox who is basically a similar type of player.

He's a top prospect but I can't see us going for him. Not with zelalem and Crowley a year or two away.

Can see us making a move for Stones though

We've got Chamberlain and Wilshere. Barkley looks like a great player but there's no need to stock up on players just for the sake of it.

Has the physique for it and a selfish streak with an eye for goal.

It's possible. He seems to enjoy running at opponents centrally in the pitch which is fairly rare. If I had to guess I'd say he will end up behind a pure striker. Not in a playmaking role though. Thinking more like Alexis Sanchez at Udinese and Chile. Tearing opponents apart with lightning quick attacks.

I think if Wenger could envisage a role for him, he'd move for him.
